We sat down with Amber, one of the first girls to join us here at Odiin, to get her perspective on the fast-moving world of blockchain and Web3 recruitment.

From building a personal brand to spotting hiring trends, Amber shares what it’s like to work at the forefront of one of the most innovative tech sectors, and where she sees the space heading next.

Can you tell us a bit about your role at Odiin and how you got into blockchain recruitment?

I joined Odiin when I was 18, straight out of sixth form! I just saw the ad on LinkedIn and wanted my first ‘big girl job’, I believe I was only the second girl to join!

I was here for 8 months and absolutely loved it, but I had a lot of personal growth to do. I went to university and after 2 years I came back, new and improved 😉

Where do you see the blockchain talent market heading over the next 6-12 months?

Honestly, over the next 6-12 months, I think the blockchain market is going to get a lot busier and more competitive. As more projects launch and Web3 keeps growing, companies are going to be looking for people who not only know the tech but also really get how this space works – there is so much emphasis now on someone’s ‘vibe’ and what they bring to the work culture.

There’s also a bigger need for product, design and marketing around blockchain. Plus, remote work is making it way easier for talent to join from anywhere, which is great!

Is there a particular area of Web3-DeFi, Layer 2s, NFTs, etc, that you’re especially interested in? and why?

My personal favourite area would have to be DeFi.

Defi projects are constantly pushing the boundaries with new protocols and innovative was to use assets. It’s a space that’s always evolving and full of opportunities to learn and build. For me, It’s the perfect mix of tech and real-world impact, which is why I’m really drawn to it.

What trends are you seeing in the blockchain hiring landscape right now?

Right now, In the blockchain hiring landscape, I’m noticing companies are getting way more strategic about how they recruit. It’s not just about finding anyone who knows the tech – recruiters and hiring managers want people who fit the culture and really understand the space.

The interviews are getting more thorough, often including technical tests, but also practical questions about how candidates would solve real problems in DeFi for example.

It feels like blockchain hiring is evolving from a niche scramble into a more structured competitive process – which is great for candidates who come prepared and really know the space.

You’re active on LinkedIn and have built a strong personal brand – have you found that it’s help you connect with candidates or make successful hires?

Yeah, being active on LinkedIn and building my personal brand has definitely helped me connect with candidates and make better hires.

It’s given me a lot of personal confidence because I can show who I really am, even through a screen. I think people appreciate seeing the real person behind the role. It makes conversations more genuine and helps build trust early on.

What do you think sets Odiin apart in the blockchain recruitment space?

The way we work together feels totally different from any other company I’ve been at.

There’s a real sense of collaboration, transparency and passion that makes every day exciting. Plus, we’re all super aligned on the mission of helping build the future of Web3, which makes the work feel meaningful.

That kind of environment is rare, and I think it really shows in the quality of the talent we attract and place.
